I'm Ru. I've been filming and photographing for most of my adult life, long enough to stop chasing what's current
and start trusting what's true.
My way of working is quiet. Minimal direction. Real people, doing what they actually do. I'd rather wait for a moment than manufacture one. The result is work that feels like it was found, not made.
Creation, for me, is a practice. The same attention I bring to breath and movement, I bring to the frame. Presence first. Then the picture.
Based in Cape Town. Working wherever the project asks.
